MY ART |
 Jody Ball the artist |
My art is a mix of realism and softened edges combined with subjects that excite my heart. I am inspired by the world around me and am always on the lookout for that special (or ordinary) landscape, flower, garden, person, or animal. Recently, I have found myself painting in a more expressive impressionistic manner which is so much fun.
Pastels, my chosen media, allow me to combine a "drawing sense" with a "painterly approach". I love the colors! I also paint in oils and enjoy the artistic expression that a paint brush allows. I have used the colored pencil medium to paint pet portraits, being able to get very detailed drawing accomplished. Pen and ink drawings are used for homes though I can use any media you prefer. My paintings of homes, personal portraits and pet portraits grace the walls of many homes around the country.
I display my art regularly and was recently chosen represent Warren County with an original work of art in a statewide exhibit promoting water and soil conservation. The exhibit is coordinated by the ODNR - Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation District.
I am an active member of the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati and am included in their recent book of Women Artists. I am also and a past board member of the Mason Art Association. My awards include:

Now living near Waynesville Ohio, I have moved out of the "city" life to a new and exciting life on a small farm on a hill overlooking the Little Miami River Valley. It is so wonderful here, and I am inspired each day by the beauty around me. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:1-2
